What We Believe
We are a
Spirit-led, non-denominational five-fold ministry with Jesus
Christ serving as the founder and leader of this church. We have
freedom from “religion” and as such, we are not affiliated or
associated with any religion or religious denomination. Instead
of following the traditions and rituals of men, we place our
beliefs strictly on biblical principles.
We wear no
other name than Christ’s. We are simply Christians, both
followers of Christ and members of His body [Acts
11:26,
26:28,
I Peter 4:15-16,
Acts 11:26,
Ephesians 1:22-23].
We do not wear any man-made designations not found in the
scriptures nor do we subscribe to any creed or doctrine. The
Bible is our only guide we use to preach and teach the absolute
true Word of God.
We
preach the word of God without prejudice and we preach the
entire word including preaching on holiness, righteousness and
living a life that is pleasing to God.
The Bible
-
We believe
the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God and is the
absolute and final authority in life and doctrine. [Psalm
119:105, 2 Timothy 3:16-17]
-
We believe
the Bible was written by human authors without error under
the guidance of the Holy Spirit and its content reveals
God’s character, our purpose, and life’s meaning. [Proverbs
30:5, 2 Peter 1:20-21 John 20:31]
-
We believe
the Bible’s principles are true for all people, for all
places, and for all times. [Psalm
119:160]
God
-
We believe
that God, the first person of the Godhead, is the Creator
and sovereign Ruler of the universe and all that is in it. [Genesis
1:1, 26, 27,
Mark
14:36, John 11:41,17:11, Ephesians 4:6]
-
We believe
that God eternally exists in three distinct roles and
personalities: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy
Spirit. These three co-exist as the one and only God. [Psalm
90:2, Matthew 28:19, Philippians 2:5-11, Colossians 1:15-20,
1 John 5:7]
Jesus Christ
-
We believe
in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, He existed before the
creation of time, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life,
in His miracles, in His atoning death through His shed
blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the
right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in
power and glory. [John 1:1-3,
Colossians 1:16, Hebrews 1:2, Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23,
Hebrews 4:14-15, Acts 1:9-11, John 14:3, 1 Corinthians
15:3-8]
·
We
believe that Jesus, the second person of the Godhead, was truly
God that took on the likeness of flesh and came to the earth
fashioned as a man. We believe that Jesus was fully God and
fully man. [John 1:14, 1 John 4:2, 2 John
7, Romans 8:3]
-
We believe that Jesus Christ
came to earth to save us from our sins. [Matthew
1:21, Luke 19:10, John 3:16]
-
We believe
that Jesus lived a sinless life, even though He was tempted
in every way, and willingly offered himself as the perfect
sacrifice for the sins of all men and women by dying on a
cross. [Philippians 2:5-11, Hebrews
4:14-15]
-
He
demonstrated His power over sin and death by rising from the
dead after three days. [1 Corinthians
15:3-4]
-
We believe
that salvation can come only come way and that one way is
through Jesus Christ. [Acts 4:12,
Colossians 1:15-23]
The Holy Spirit
-
We believe that the Holy
Spirit, the third person of the Godhead, is God. [Acts
16:7, 1 Corinthians 6:11, John 14:6]
-
We believe
that the Holy Spirit lives in every Christian from the
moment of salvation. [Acts 2:38, 1
Corinthians 3:16, Ephesians 1:13-14]
-
We believe
that the Holy Spirit provides the Christian with
understanding of spiritual truth and guidance in doing what
is right. [Romans 8:9-17, Galatians
5:22-26]
-
We believe
that the believe that the Holy Spirit empowers the church
with gifts of the Spirit [1
Corinthians 12:1-11, Romans 12:6-8]
-
We believe in the Baptism of
the Holy Spirit as a subsequent act after salvation endued
upon a person by prayer or by laying on of hands [Acts
2:28, 8:14-17, 10:44-48]
Human Beings
-
We believe that men and women
are made in the spiritual image of God. [Genesis
1:27]
·
We
believe that in the beginning God created man innocent, pure and
holy, but through the sin of disobedience, Adam and Eve, the
first of the human race, fell from their holy state, and God
banished them from Eden. Hence by one man's disobedience, sin
entered into the world. [Gen. 1:27, Rom.
3:23, 5:12].
·
We believe that all men are born
sinners under the judgment of death; however, God has made a way
of escape from this judgment through His Son, Jesus Christ. [Romans
6:23, Acts 2:28, 1 John 1:9, John 14:6]
Salvation
-
Salvation
is a free gift of God. It cannot be achieved through good
works or self-improvement because the death of Jesus Christ
is the only acceptable payment for our sins. [John
3:16, Ephesians 2:8-10, Hebrews 9:26-28]
-
All people have sinned, but we
believe all people can be saved. [Acts
2:39, Romans 3:23]
-
We believe
people must have a spiritual rebirth in order to be
reconciled back unto God. [John 3:3, 2
Corinthians 5:17]
-
To receive
the gift of Salvation, we believe: you need to hear God's
word and believe that Christ has the power to save. Based
on what you have learned and now believe, you confess Jesus
as Lord and that He is risen from the dead. In order to
follow Jesus, you must repent of your sins and obey the
teachings of Jesus Christ by being a disciple of Jesus
living faithfully by God's standards. [Romans
10:17, John 3:16, Acts 16:31-33, Romans 10:9-10, Luke 13:3,
Acts 2:38, Acts 3:19, Acts 17:30, Matthew 19:17, Matthew
28:19-20, Luke 11:28, John 14:23, Romans 14:7-8, Ephesians
4:1, 2 Peter 3:11-12a, 1 John 2:24-25]
Eternity
-
We believe that Heaven and
Hell are real places of eternal existence. [Matthew
10:28, Philippians 2:10]
-
We can live forever with God
in a place of ultimate joy doing His will, or we can be
eternally separated from God in Hell, a place of extreme
torment, by refusing to obey Him, rejecting Jesus or by
blaspheming the Holy Spirit. [Matthew
7:21, 1 John 5:11-13, Revelation 20:15]
WATER BAPTISM
·
We
believe in the scriptural mode of Water Baptism by immersion,
which signifies a believer who has fully repented of their sins,
having turned from their sins and a love of the world and
confessed Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. [Matthew
28:19-20, Mark 1:9-10, Acts 10:48, Acts 16:30-34, Romans 6:3-8]
Holy Communion
·
We believe in partaking of Holy
Communion, which is done by eating the bread and drinking the
wine which symbolically represents when Jesus gave His body and
shed His blood so that we might be forgiven of our sins. [Matthew
26:26-28, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, 10:16] |
